Officers Seize 73 Marijuana Plants from Home

Lexington County, SC (WLTX)-  Officers with the Lexington County Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) in cooperation with the Springdale Police Department, seized 73 marijuana plants on Wednesday March 27th.  

The plants were being grown inside a home on Rainbow Circle near West Columbia. According to officers, the indoor marijuana operation featured separate electrical lighting, ventilation and climate control systems for growing marijuana indoors.

Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said the officers seized the plants, along with $1,752 in cash, dried marijuana that was stored in mason jars in preparation for selling the marijuana and one 9-mm Springfield XD handgun that had a combined street value of about $75,000.

Officers arrested Theodore James Prosalenti, 32, of West Columbia, at about 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Prosalenti is being charged with manufacturing marijuana and possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute it.

Prosalenti is being held on Thursday, March 28 at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
