Ruptured Gas Line on Garners Ferry Road Causes Road Shut Down

Columbia, SC (WLTX) A ruptured gas line has caused traffic to be halted on Garners Ferry road according to the Columbia fire department. 

At approximately 8:10pm Monday night, Columbia Fire department responded to a ruptured gas line on the 7700 block of Garners Ferry Rd.  

The Columbia Police department is providing traffic control and has closed all lanes of traffic (inbound/outbound) between the  7600-7700 blocks of Garners Ferry Rd.  

SCE&G is responding to the incident.  

The line appears to have been severed while crews were installing fiber optic cable.  

No injuries have been reported.
