COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Students who have not been able to complete their college degrees now have a new option to wrap up their studies online through the University of South Carolina.
USC President Harris Pastides and Chancellor Susan Elkins announced Thursday that enrollment is officially open for the new South Carolina Palmetto College.
The online program allows students who have completed 60 hours of course work in the classroom to complete seven types of degrees. The programs are administered through several USC campuses across the state.
Pastides thanked lawmakers at the State House for providing $5 million last year to jumpstart the program.
USC officials say the degrees are in business administration, criminal justice, elementary education, nursing, human services, liberal arts studies and organizational leadership.
