Anderson Co., SC (GreenvilleOnline.com/WLTX) - A 20-year-old Clemson University student was found dead at an apartment complex in Central, authorities said.
The student was found at The Summit at Cross Creek apartments, and the police department received the call about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Central Police Chief Kerry Avery said.
Clemson officials said the student was a junior materials science and engineering major from Columbia. No foul play was suspected, Clemson officials said.
The student's name has not yet been released.
Central Police Chief Kerry Avery said a hazardous material crew was called because "it appears as though the student made some sort of concoction" that was ingested.
He said an evacuation of the apartment complex wasn't expected and the only residents who might be displaced were the student's two roommates.
