MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) - Former Gov. Mark Sanford and Elizabeth Colbert Busch are in the last full day of their heated race in the state's 1st Congressional District.
Sanford is bringing in some top Republicans to campaign for him. He appeared Monday morning at a diner in Mount Pleasant with former Gov. Jim Edwards and with state Rep. Chip Limehouse, who opposed Sanford in the GOP primary.
Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch (KOHL'-buhrt) Busch has events planned in Ladson and in Charleston.
Sanford says he feels the momentum in the race moving his way. He says he feels it began in part with last week's debate between the candidates.
He says voters in the district want to send a conservative Republican to Congress.
