Shaw Air Force Base, SC (WLTX) - Shaw Air Force Base has cancelled its annual Fourth of July Celebration due to budget constraints.

The military base said in a statement it would not have the "Jammy July 4th" that normally takes place at Dillon Park.

"Due to budget constraints Team Shaw is unable to host Jammin' July 4th this year at Dillon Park," said Col. Clay Hall, 20th FW commander.  "The Sumter community has provided phenomenal support to Shaw AFB and its military personnel at this event for many years and I'd like to thank every person that has had a hand in its success."

The event has taken place every year since the early 1990s, and brings in about 35,000 visitors. It features carnival rides, fireworks, and food.
