Two children are dead and their mother has been charged with shooting them and her husband, who has life-threatening injuries, while they were in bed in their Dacusville home, authorities said.
Suzanna Brown Simpson, 35, of 307 Cherokee Trail, Easley charged with two counts of murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to warrants.
Simpsons' children, Carly Ashlyn Simpson, 7, and Sawyer Russell Simpson, 5, were killed, according to warrants.
They were students at Dacusville Elementary, according to John Eby, spokesman at Pickens County School District.
Her husband, Michael John Simpson was wounded, said Pickens County Sheriff Rick Clark.
Suzanna Simpson, who was involved in a motor vehicle accident early Tuesday morning following the shooting, stated to EMS personnel who were rendering aid "OK, OK I shot my whole family," according to warrants.
EMS called the Sheriff's Office and deputies found the children lying in bed with gunshot wounds, according to warrants.
Michael John Simpson also was found in bed with a gunshot wound, according to a warrant.
Suzanna Simpson was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where she told an ER nurse: "I shot my kids, then my husband and tried to shoot myself several times but couldn't do it."
Solicitor Walt Wilkins said the case qualifies for the death penalty and said he would review information as it becomes available.
