Lexington County Extending Bus Route

Lexington County, SC(WLTX)- The County of Lexington is extending their bus route and adding new stops.

The Pilot Bus Route will be extended through September 30th and includes additional stops at the Lexington County Administration Building and the Wal-Mart Shopping Center on Sunset Boulevard.

Every Monday, a COMET bus travels to Lexington's Red Bank Crossing located at 1070 S. Lake Drive. This drop off is mean't to accomodate a multitude of people that are in need of government health services such as, the Health Department, Department of Social Services, and Lexington-Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council (LRADAC).

The pilot bus route provides roundtrip service three times each Monday making stops in Cayce, West Columbia, and the Town of Lexington.

 The bus departs from the Downtown Transit Center every Monday at 8:15 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. with six stops between the Transit Center and Red Bank Crossing. These stops include:

-City of Cayce
-Knox Abbott and State Streets
-12th and Poplar Streets
-City of West Columbia
-Sunset Boulevard and Craft Street
-Lexington Medical Center (West and North Hospital Drives)
-Town of Lexington
-Wal-Mart and Chick-fil-A (Sunset Boulevard)
-Lexington County Administration Building (South Lake Drive and    Myers Way)
