Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The student accused of raping another cadet at the Camden Military Academy testified via a recorded video deposition Wednesday in the federal case.
The headmaster of the school was also in court for the second full day of testimony in the case against the school. Colonel Eric Boland is also listed as a defendant.
The cadet accused of raping a 13-year-old cadet at the school said in the video testimony that he did not do what the lawsuit alleges. He did, however, say the 13-year-old did pay him $100 to protect him from bullies. He also admitted to being a member of a gang.
The school's director of admissions and lead nurse also answered questions from the plaintiff's attorneys Wednesday.
Under oath, the nurse admitted she did not disclose some of the 13 year old's trips to the infirmary to the family who filed the lawsuit against the school.
The nurse also admitted she had not received any anti-bullying training before January 2009, when the lawsuit alleges the rape happened.
The admissions director testified providing background on student admission and what the requirements are for cadets at the school.
The trial is expected to continue into next week.
