Columbia, SC (WLTX)  A four-year old girl is in critical but stable condition after being shot Monday evening.

The incident took place just before 8 p.m. Monday night at the Colony Aparmtents on Bailey Street in Columbia.

Police now say that preliminary information suggests shots may have been fired between a group of people on foot and someone inside a silver Dodge Charger. One of the stray bullets went inside a unit and struck the victim as she was watching t.v.

"This is a completely disgusting crime...they just shot an innocent child, but by the grace of God the child is in critical but stable condition right now," sand Jennifer Timmons with the Columbia Police Department.

Late Monday night, police released surveillance video of several people wanted for questioning, as well as pictures of the Dodge Charger.

"They have no regret for anyone elses life. So I dont have any respect for them. A bullet has no ones name on it and I was always tought that and now you see it for yourself," said Deanna Richardson, a mother of a 6 year old daughter.

Timmons said that multiple bullet casings were found up and down Bailey street.

"This shooting happened on a public road. Anyone else could have been shot or killed in this situation," said Timmons.
