Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies have arrested a woman they say used money raised to help a child with cancer for her own personal use.

Officers charged 34-year-old Kelli Jean Chavis with breach of trust with fradulent intent.

An arrest warrant says that back in February, Chavis helped organize a beauty pageant that served as a fundraiser to help Richard Culliver.

Culliver is battling brain cancer. Over the past few months, several groups have come together to put together events for the little boy. Previous Coverage: Young Boy with Brain Tumor Needs Help | Hundreds Come Out to Support Culliver | Deputies Help Fulfill 7-Year-Olds Dream

The pageant took place March 17 at a hotel in Lexington. The proceeds were to have gone to the Culliver family to help pay the child's medical bills.

The warrants state that Chavis set up a PayPal account that to receive donations and fees from the pageant. Instead of giving them to the family, thought, deputies say Chavis put $1,875 into a personal bank account and used the money for personal expenses, including food and alcohol.

To date, deputies say, Culliver's family hasn't received any money from this fundraiser.
