Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) - A man is in critical condition after being repeatedly beaten in the head with a metal baseball bat, according to Kershaw County sheriff's department.

According to deputies, the victim, along with four friends, were attending a party. Officers say the group realized the victim and another man at the party, Ryan Freeland Trojan, 20, had a problem with each other, so they left.

After leaving, they went back to the party to retreive some personal items. It was at that time, according to the sheriff's department, that Trojan attacked the victim with a metal baseball bat, striking him on the head several times.

The four individuals then took the victim to a church on Ft. Jackson Boulevard and called an ambulance. The victim was transported by EMS to the hospital where he was admitted in critical condition with multiple skull fractures and broken teeth.

Deputies attempted to locate Trojan, and issued an arrest warrant charging Trojan, charging him with attempted murder.

Trojan later turned himself over to deputies. He's being detained on $225,000 bond at the Kershaw County detention Center.
