Sumter, SC (WLTX)- Some people in the Sumter community want School Superintendent Randolph Bynum ousted along with other district leaders.
Many people are expected to attend a school board meeting Monday night to discuss issues within the district, and people's jobs could be on the chopping block.
Blake Ward is a 2013 graduate of Sumter High School. He said out of the 18 teachers he's had, nine have left.
"And so many of them are just walking out the door," Ward said. "I can attest some of the greatest teachers that a student could ever want are gone."
Brian Bean, whose three young kids attend Sumter Schools, said something needs to change. He said it starts with Bynum, who has been in his position for two years.
"If you look at what he's done since he's been here we've had a mass exodus of teachers," Bean said.
Bynum took over when the Sumter School Districts Seventeen and Two combined.
The board is supposed to meet Monday night in executive session to discuss multiple issues within the district.
News19 reached out to the Sumter School District, but they did not comment. School board members also declined to comment prior to the meeting.
