Sumter, SC (WLTX) -- The "Family Fun Night" hosted by Kangaroo Express will include a Paratrooper show, and Wilson will jump with them.
The Kangaroo Express Salute Our Troops campaign has raised more than $5.7 million for service members and their families over the last two years.
Tickets for the event are free with a military I.D. and can be picked up at local Kangaroo Express stores. There is a limit of four tickets per military I.D.
Split into two events, the daytime happenings are from 11AM to 1PM at the Kangaroo Express at 1281 Broad Street in Sumter, to raise awareness about the evening event, and raise funds for the USO, the Fisher House Foundation, and the South Carolina Military Family care Association.
In the third year for the Salute Our Troops Campaign, the Family Fun Night will happen from 5-8PM at the Memorial Fair Building, 30 Artillery Drive in Sumter, where Congressman Joe Wilson will participate in a tandem jump with the All Veterans Parachute Team.
The evening will include free live entertainment by country music star Jamie Tate and Outlaw 21, food, giveaways, and fun activities for kids including bounce houses, a climbing wall, face tattoos and yard games.
Notable attendees include Don O'Neal, a U.S. Army soldier (ret.) and drag racer with more than 22 years of service in the United States Army and 18 years of experience as a professional driver. O'Neal drove the U.S. Army dragster from 2004 to 2012 with an appearance in the final round at the 2010 U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis.
And Silver-Star recipient Staff Sergeant Tommy Rieman, with more than 14 years of service in the United States Army. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, SSG Rieman distinguished himself by acts of conspicuous gallantry and courage under fire while serving as an Assistant Team Leader N Echo, 51st Infantry Long Range Surveillance Company (LRS-C) for which he was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
