Columbia, SC (WLTX) - South Carolina's unemployment rate remains unchanged, based on the latest numbers released from the state's Department of Employment and Workforce.
SCDEW official say the seasonally adjusted rate stands at 8.1 percent for the month of July, which is where it was in June as well.
The total number of employed South Carolinians, however, actually fell by 4,084 for the month. The non-farm payroll jobs, though, are at their highest level of the year.
The national unemployment rate is 7.4 percent.
Lexington County has the lowest unemployment rate in both the Midlands and the entire state at 6.2 percent. Orangeburg County has the highest at 13.4 percent.
