Blythewood, SC (WLTX) - An apparent malfunction on a Richland Two school bus briefly delayed the dismissal of students at Muller Middle School Friday.
A spokesperson for the district says one of the buses began smoking before school was dismissed. Because of the problem, about 225 students were held due to safety concerns.
Columbia firefighters responded, and once the situation was determined to be safe, they were released in small batches.
District officials don't believe the bus actually caught fire.
