Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Richland County Utilities Department has issued a Boil Water Advisory for customers of the Hopkins Community Water System following a water line break.
Customers of the Hopkins Water System might have experienced a drop in water pressure due to the water line break, although there has been no confirmation of water system contamination.
Customers are advised to boil all tap water for one full minute prior to drinking or cooking, until this Advisory is rescinded.
Also, any ice made since 8AM Monday morning should be discarded. Customers are advised to use pre-boiled water to create ice for the time being.
SC DHEC is currently working with the owner of the Water System to correct the problem.
