Police: One Man Shot By Suspected Dog Thieves

Columbia, SC (WLTX)  Columbia police are looking for individuals involved in a shooting this afternoon  that has sent one person to the hospital.  

According to police, a man heard someone in his backyard in the 400 block of the Oakbrook Village homes.  He went to investigate and saw a couple of individuals trying to steal some pit bull puppies from his backyard. 

When the victim confronted the people, according to police,  he was shot.  He was transported to Richland Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
