Chapin, SC (WLTX) Students at two Chapin schools had an unusual visitor on Wednesday.
Abraham the camel made a stop at Chapin High School and Chapin Elementary school as a special "hump day" surprise for students.
The visit was planned by Chapin High School Principal Dr. Akil Ross and board member Jondy Loveless. It served as an opportunity to help get kids excited about coming to school.
"When I became principal I knew a lot would be asked of me, but I never thought I'd be asked to get on a camel. I'll do anything to get my studnets fired up about learning and school. It was tremendous for school spirit, " said Dr. Ross.
One parent commented that their child was having a bad morning and Abraham just made their day.
The camel hung out in the courtyard for students to visit with and no instruction time was lost with the visits to each school.
