COWPENS, S.C. (AP) - Spartanburg County residents are getting help in fixing up their homes this weekend.
A nonprofit group called Christmas in Action is holding its annual Fall Rebuilding Day on Saturday. This year, the group is doing home improvement repairs, from roof replacement to painting, for a selected group of Cowpens residents.
More than 200 volunteers are starting the day with breakfast at Cowpens First Baptist Church before moving on to various job sites.
Organizers say this is the effort's 17th year. So far, the group has repaired at least 725 homes.
