Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies have seized what they say are 53 illegal video gambling devices from a building in West Columbia.
Deputies have also arrested a suspect in connection with the discovery, 38-year-old Brinton Lee Motley, and charged him with unlawfully possessing a gambling device.
Investigators say they got information that the devices were being stored at a commercial building on Morningside Drive, which is just off Leaphart Road in West Columbia. Officers found the machines in work area and storage room which officers say was separated from the rest of the building by plywood walls.
Among the devices found were stand-up Chess Challenge II devices and table-top double platinum devices.
Investigators say Motley had the machines, and also had parts and components used to repair and replaced illegal video gambling devices.
Most of the machines were taken to a State Law Enforcement Division facility for storage. A magistrate declared the machines illegal, and ordered them to be destroyed.
