Summerville, SC (WLTX) -- The boyfriend of the woman, who along with her daughter was found dead in a Summerville home, has been arrested.
In a report from CBS affiliate WBTW, 26-year-old Ashley Kaney and her 8-year-old daughter Riley Burdick were found dead in a Summerville home Kaney rented with her boyfriend.
Jacob Phillip, a Petty Officer 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy working at the Navy's Nuclear Power Training Unit in Charleston, was placed under arrest in Virginia Beach Tuesday night on unrelated charges, and subsequently confessed to the murders of Kaney and her daughter.
The mother of Kaney reported her missing since Sunday to authorities, and the arrest was made with the assistance of SLED Agents, the U.S. Marshall Service, the U.S. Navy's NCIS, and other agencies.
