Calhoun, County, SC (WLTX) - When concerts comes to town, streets are a little busier than usual.
This Friday, when country singer and CMA entertainer of the year, Luke Bryan comes to the Sandy Run community in Calhoun county the county's population will double.
"We got to get it where it looks good," said John Culler.
In the Sandy Run community many people like John Culler live the simple life.
You won't find too many fast food restaurants or hotels
But on Friday, the 16,000 residents in Calhoun county are about to meet 16,000 visitors.
"I will basically have all of Calhoun County in the little town of Sandy Run for one day."
Culler owns the farm where the Luke Bryan concert will be held and this week he has been making sure his 100 acre property is ready.
"I would rather not cut the grass because there are going to be some cows mad with me when this thing is over and I turn them back out here because they will be looking forward to some more green grass."
The Mud Run is also held on his farm and says that's how Luke Bryan heard about the space.
"Young people are absolutely enthused that Luke Bryan is coming to Sandy Run, South Carolina."
The concert is sold out and Culler says people from as far as Virginia and Florida are attending.
As a farmer for more than 50 years, he always took kids coon hunting in the woods near his farm but he never thought it would be the site for concert.
"Never crossed my mind I was strictly into making a group of kids happy, that was my ambition to make those kids happy."
And when you are the owner of a concert venue, naturally you have the best seat in the house.
"I am going to party all night long up until about 8:30PM and then I might change my pants and do something else like go to sleep."
