Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A vacant property just off Columbia's Devine Street will be redeveloped into a new shopping center.
The site, located behind where Rosewood Drive and Devine meet, was previously the site of a K-Mart store.
Developer Bright-Meyers plans to call the center Rosewood Crossing. Three tenants have already agreed to move into the site: Marshalls, Michael's, and Petsmart.
Other smaller stores will surround those anchor shops, but which businesses will occupy those locations have not been finalized.
The site had been unoccupied since the K-Mart shut down last year.
The redevelopment continues a revitalization on the southeast side of Columbia. Last year, The Cross Hill Market, anchored by a Whole Foods grocery, opened just a short distance away. Two new restaurants--Smashburger and Moe's Southwest Grill, also opened on Devine, and the McDonald's at that location remodeled.
