Columbia, S.C. ( WLTX)--Barnes & Noble is closing the chapter on its Harbison Boulevard location at the end of the year.
David Deason, Vice President of Development for the bookseller, says the store's lease will expire in January of 2014. According to Deason, the store and the property owner were unable to come to an agreement for an extension of the lease. "As a result, the location will be closing at the end of December 2013," he said.
Right now, the Barnes & Noble has no plans to relocate.
But the property might not be empty for long. Deason said the property owner has plans on leasing the facility to an alternative tenant.
There's no word on who that tenant might be.
