Special Election Underway in Calhoun, Lexington, Orangeburg

Columbia, SC (AP/WLTX) -- Polls are open in Calhoun, Lexington, and Orangeburg counties today until 7 p.m. for a special election. Voters will decide who fills the rest of the term of the District 93 state House seat.

The seat became vacant when Democrat Harry Ott Jr. stepped down to become state executive director of the federal Farm Service Agency. 

Democrat Russell Ott, Harry Ott's son, and Republican Charles Stoudemire Jr. are on the ballot.
