Irmo, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies have charged four people in connection with stolen iPad and iPad minis from Irmo High School.
Len Wilkerson, a school resource officer at the school, made the arrests. The following suspects were taken into custody: Shaolin Unique Burgess, 17, on a charge of petit larceny, Andrew Josef Hamilton, 18, on a charge of receiving stolen goods; Lamont Antonio Jennings, 18 on four counts of receving stolen goods; and Kendrick Allan Thompson, 22, on a charge of receiving stolen goods.
Deputies say Jennings and Hamilton were Irmo High students, while Burgess went to Dutch Fork High.
According to officers, after the items were taken, they were brought to an ATM machine at two local malls that allow people to deposit electronics for cash. Each stolen iPad was sold for $144, deputies say, then shipped to a storage facility in San Diego, California.
The owner of the ATM company has helped the sheriff's department to recover the devices.
Officers say they are also searching for 17-year-old Jaqualle Dejevold Jacobs in connection with the case.
