Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies have filed a charge against a man already accused of sexual assaults in Richland County.
Lexington Sheriff James Metts says his officers served warrants against 28-year-old Denzil Patrick Jones on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, and possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
This latest charge comes from an incident that officers say took place back on May 31st at a home in West Columbia. According to deputies, a woman told deputies she met Jones at a convenience store a month before the incident, and had been talking to him on a regular basis. On the day of the incident, she had invited him to her house. Once he got there, officers say, he held her at gunpoint and forced her to perform a sexual act on him. Police say he also threatened to kill her if she tried to leave the home.
Earlier in October, Richland County deputies arrested Jones on three counts of criminal sexual conduct. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Jones had been meeting women on the social dating website "Tagged," then sexually assaulting them at gunpoint.
