Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Governor Nikki Haley, USC President Harris Pastides, and Clemson President James Barker have announced a Texting Can Wait Pledge Challenge.
It's a friendly challenge to students of South Carolina and Clemson universities. AT&T is also part of the effort.
Twenty-five percent of teens admit to sending or responding to a text message at least once every time they get behind the wheel.
The awareness campaign allows students to compete by collecting student pledges promising to not text and drive.
To take the pledge online, students from Clemson can visit http://att-fz.us/clemson and students from USC can visit http://att-fz.us/carolina between Wednesday, November 6 and Saturday, November 23.
