Sumter, SC (WLTX) -- A two-year old boy is dead after drowning in a pond in Sumter Monday afternoon.
According to Sumter Sheriff Anthony Dennis, at approximately 1:00 PM, his office received a call for a missing child in the Runnymeade subdivision in Sumter.
Upon arrival, deputies began a search around the home and found the boy, drowned in a pond, just 150 feet from the home.
Sheriff Dennis says the child was staying with the grandparents over the weekend. The incident is still under investigation and no charges have filed.
The identity of the child will not be released until all family members have been notified.
