Newberry, SC (WLTX)  A 2000-acre mega site in Newberry County has leaders there hoping big business will set up shop.

Officials say it took them more than two years to make that happen.

With important access to rail lines and an I-26 exit,  leaders in Newberry County hope this mega site will bring the next big business to South Carolina.

They want companies like Continental Tire - that's building up in Sumter County - to call Newberry County home.

The mega site is divided into 25 separate tracks that will be on the market for the next four years.

To know about the property, Newberry county had to do all kinds of studies.

They learned about things like cultural significance, wetlands, and endangered species.

Those studies met all the requirements to make this the state's newest  mega industrial site.
