Lexington County, SC (WLTX)- Lexington County Sheriff's Department narcotics investigators and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division seized 20 illegal video gambling devices on Wednesday from a mobile home on Greenwood Drive near West Columbia.
Lexington County Sheriff says a man lives in a second mobile home on the Greenwood Drive property. Investigators are continuing to investigate his involvement with the 20 illegal video gambling devices.
The mobile home was used as a storage building on the property, investigators found, identified and seized as illegal video gambling devices, 20 Pot-O-Gold video poker gaming devices that were stored in the mobile home.
Lexington County magistrate on Wednesday determined that the 20 devices all were illegal video gambling devices, which were subject to seizure by law enforcement. Under South Carolina law, a magistrate must determine whether each individual gambling device is illegal.
Just after 4pm on Wednesday, deputies responded to a call concerning a break-in that was in the process of being committed at the mobile home, where the illegal video gambling devices were stored.
Chase told deputies that a man opened the front door at the mobile home and ran away along Greenwood Drive. Deputies have not yet identified the man.
Deputies contacted narcotics investigators when they found the 20 illegal video gambling devices inside the mobile home.
