Columbia, SC (WLTX)- It looks like Senator Tim Scott has got someone gunning for his seat in Washington.
Former U.S. Commerce Department adviser and Cabinet officer under former Gov. Jim Hodges is seeking the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat held by Republican Tim Scott.
Rick Wade announced in a campaign statement late Friday that the people who represent South Carolina in Congress must be held accountable for their actions-- "When it comes to choosing between what's best for South Carolina and America and what's best for his tea party friends, Senator Tim Scott will always choose the tea party".
Wade lives in Columbia and was part of the Obama for America presidential campaign. His campaign says he founded The Wade Group, a global business development firm.
Democratic Richland County Councilwoman Joyce Dickerson has also announced her candidacy in the race to unseat Scott.
