COLUMBIA, SC (WLTX)- Santa spent Christmas Eve afternoon ringing bells greeting last-minute shoppers.
Many people were out despite the crowds crossing off the remaining items on their Christmas list.
Brittons, a store on Devine Street, was one of many businesses that stayed open the day before the big celebration.
"We opened at ten o'clock and it will be packed until six o'clock tonight," Brittons store manager Perry Lancaster said.
Stacey Brennan said she shops every Christmas Eve.
"Through the year, I find special gifts, but four days before Christmas I know what they really want," Brennan said.
Workers also stayed busy wrapping, tying bows, and putting the final touches on presents.
After everyone shops and wraps, the best part is spending time with loved ones and family.
"We're having twenty people for Christmas Eve dinner, which is always fun," Brennan said.
