Branchville Fire Chief Dies of Stab Wound

Orangeburg, SC (WLTX)  The Branchville fire chief is dead from a stab wound to the neck.  

The Orangeburg Times and Democrat reports that Alan Richard Oakley, 48, died Saturday night from a stab wound according to Orangeburg County Chief deputy coroner Sean Fogle.  

South Carolina Law Enforcement division is investigating the death at Chief Oakley's home. 

Oakley, according to the Times and Democrat was president of the Orangeburg County Firefighter's Association and was employed by the Orangeburg County fire district as a vehicle maintenance specialist II.  He was retired from the Army National Guard.
