COLUMBIA, S.C. (WLTX) - Two lanes on I-20 Westbound are back open again Monday after a multiple vehicle accident involving three tractor-trailers.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol tells News19 the backup started when two passenger vehicles collided near Mile Marker 66 on I-20 Westbound. That's near the Broad River Road exit.

Troopers say that backup led to three 18-wheelers colliding, entrapping one of the drivers.  The Columbia Fire Department says three people have been transported to an area hospital. No word yet on any of their conditions.

The wreck also caused one of the 18-wheeler's diesel fuel to leak onto the interstate.

The fire department is clearing the scene but the highway patrol remains at the wreck.

Two westbound lanes have been re-opened, but troopers still say to expect delays. Find an alternate route if at all possible.
