Columbia, SC (WLTX) - South Carolina is the second most popular moving destination, according to a new study by United Van Lines.
The moving company's migration study tracks where people move to and from during the course of a year. It found that 60 percent of the moves in South Carolina are inbound.
United Van Lines says South Carolina has been one of the top inbound states for 16 of the last 18 years.
Michael Stoll, a UCLA economist quoted in the report, says business incentives, industrial growth, and lower costs of living are attracting more people to the Southeast.
Oregon was number one in the study. On the other end of the spectrum, New Jersey was the top outbound state.
