Berkeley County, SC (WLTX) - A baby girl who'd been reported as kidnapped has been found alive in Berkeley County.
Orangeburg County investigators say they'd gotten a call Tuesday that a child had been taken from a home on Catamount Road in Holly Hill.
Charleston television stations report the child was later found off Highway 311 near 176 in Moncks Corner by someone who saw the baby on the side of the road, then saw a car drive away from the scene.
EMS reported the child was in good health.
WCIV-TV reports that Berkeley County deputies say the case began as an armed robbery and kidnapping. Additional details of the crime were not available, and it does not appear any suspects are in custody.
Orangeburg deputies say they were in the process of sending out an Amber Alert when they got word that the child had been found.
