Saluda County, SC (WLTX) - One person has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a meth lab in Saluda County.

Paul Preston Quattlebaum Jr. was taken into custody on January 22nd.

Officers say they started their investigation after a person said a man had been stealing scrap metal from his property. In tracking the suspect, narcotics officers began to suspect that the suspect might be headed to the same area where they'd been getting reports of drug activity.

When officers arrived at that area, they say they found tire tracks going behind an abandoned barn. When they looked around the property, they say they found meth-making materials and a strong smell of the drug.

Once they got a warrant, they went in the barn and say they found meth-making chemicals and found about a half a pound of a white powder that field tested for methamphetamine.
