Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- A picture on the Governor's Facebook page caught the attention of some of her followers, and the News19 Information Center.
Governor Nikki Haley posted a picture of her year 15-year-old daughter and her 12-Year-old son riding on ATV's in the snow. The children are not wearing helmets.
State law mandates that children 15 and younger can't operate an all terrain vehicle without wearing a helmet. It's a measure that Governor Haley signed into law in may of 2011.
We called the Governor's office to get an explanation to some of the questions about the lack of helmets in her photo. "It's pretty hard to smile through a helmet," Doug Mayer told News19. "The Governors children always wear their helmets when riding. They took them off to take the picture"
