Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Most of the snow was cleared off the interstates and main roads in the Midlands by Wednesday afternoon.
Officials with the City of Columbia Public Works Department say there were no major incidents in the city and they will continue to monitor the roads and bridges throughout the night and Thursday morning.
The major concern is the melted snow freezing on the roads and bridges as the temperature drops Wednesday night.
Ada Gardener has been working for the South Carolina Department of Transportation for 17 years and says drivers need to be extra cautious over the next few days.
"People often drive too fast for conditions and they also need to be mindful of our crews on the road," said Gardner.
