Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Eliza O'Neill is racing against a clock and her family is hoping you will race in her honor.
The 4-year-old was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called Sanfilippo Syndrome, Type A. It is a degenerative condition where the body and mind begin failing at varying stages and speed.
Her father, Glenn O'Neill, says they have raised over $130,000 in 130 days. All of the money raised will go toward funding a clinical trial that could save Eliza's life.
The gene therapy clinical trial scheduled for late 2014 at a children's hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
