Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Pawmetto Lifeline says it has taken in 17 dogs that are severely malnourished and neglected from a breeding operating in the Midlands.
The animal rescue group says the dogs have a variety of medical concerns, including matted fur, skin disorders and eye infections.
Pawmetto Lifeline says it was not directly involved in getting the animals removed from the breeder. They say a volunteer heard about the dog's conditions and got involved with getting them out of the situation.
The dogs will receive medical care over the next few weeks while the group tries to find them permanent homes.
