Arrest Made in Restaurant Shooting

Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting outside a restaurant Wednesday morning.

Officers say they'll charge 26-year-old Richard Patterson with two counts of attempted murder.

According to deputies, there was a fight at the MoBay Carribbean Restaurant Bar and Grill on Parklane Road around 4 a.m. Security officers got all of the people involved out of the bar and into the parking lot, but the fight continued.

Officers say the victim tried to pull out his gun, but Patterson grabbed the man and struggled with him for the weapon. Deputies say Patterson then took the gun away and shot the victim in the lower body. Officers say Patterson also shot a security guard who tried to stop the fight.

The guard also shot Patterson. Patterson's friends then took him to the hospital. The guard and the other victim were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Patterson will be taken to jail once he's released from the hospital.
