Authorities Investigate Deputy Almost Being Hit by Vehicle

Richland County Deputies are investigating after a deputy was nearly hit by a car on Millwood Avenue on Sunday.

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC - (WLTX) -- Two suspects have been apprehended but one is still on the run after deputies say they failed to stop after almost hitting a deputy Sunday morning.

Officers say the deputy was directing traffic after a Sunday morning service on Millwood Avenue, when he was almost hit. They say the deputy then got into his car to pursue  the vehicle. 

Officials from the Columbia Police Department set up a perimeter as the deputy chased the vehicle. The suspects later ran into a tree on Oak Street and Haskell Avenue. 

Two suspects were caught and one remains on the run.
