Bond Denied for Man Charged with Killing Wife, Putting Her in Woods

Officers say the Sumter man killed her, then dumped her body in a shallow grave last month.

Sumter County, SC (WLTX) - Bond has been denied for a Sumter man charged with killing his ex-wife and putting her body in the woods.

James Lee Ginther, 26, has a hearing Monday morning, where a judge ruled that he must stay behind bars until his trial.

Ginther was arrested on November 20 in Louisville, Kentucky, in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Suzette Ginther, whose body was found in a shallow grave in the Manchester Forest in Sumter County.

Deputies apprehended Ginther after running his information for a minor traffic accident

Suzette Ginther's body was found in a shallow grave off Burnt Gin Road in the Manchester National Forest in Sumter County last month. The coroner determined she'd been shot in the head.

The Cherryvale woman was originally reported missing by her boyfriend. But just hours after that report was filed, her body was found by a hunter.

A weapon was recovered from the vehicle in Kentucky.

The victim and the suspect were married, but had gotten legally divorced this year. The couple had two children, ages eight and six.
