Chemicals For Meth Lab Found During Traffic Stop

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Richland County Sheriff's Department responded to a call of a suspicious person, and a short time later discovered chemicals associated with the production of methamphetamine inside the trunk of a vehicle.

According to RCSD's Public Information Officer Lt. Curtis Wilson, Deputies responded to a hotel parking lot just off Wilson Blvd. at Interstate 20 regarding a suspicious person seen in the area.

When Deputies arrived, they located the suspect, who said he was waiting for friends. Deputies report that when the friends arrived in the area, they were seen driving past several times without stopping.

Deputies stopped the car, believing it suspicious the vehicle did not stop for their friend several times, and discovered chemicals in the trunk that are used for the manufacture of methamphetamine.

28 year-old Michael Cruser, 27 year-old Christopher Hutto, and 25 year-old Autumn Neu were placed under arrest, charged with manufacturing and possession of methamphetamine. Also, 52 year-old Mark Dobson was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.

All were transported by Deputies to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
