Richland County, SC (WLTX) - A former Richland County corrections officer is being accused of assaulting an inmate.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says 25-year-old Kiara Lusk is charged with two counts of assault and battery.
According to the sheriff, Lusk got into an argument with a female inmate on April 29th, and during the confrontation caused injuries to the victim's elbow and back. Another corrections officers witnessed the attack and reported it to a supervisor.
The inmate suffered non life-threatening injuries.
She was arrested Thursday. She has been terminated from her job at the jail.
