Man Drives Away After Being Shot, Crashes Short Time Later

Chapin, SC (WLTX) -- Lexington County Deputies said they are investigating a shooting near Chapin where a man crashed his vehicle after being shot.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department tweeted that the shooting happened in the 100-block of Millers Branch Road on Sunday.  The male victim then drove away from the area after being shot in the upper body.

Deputies said he crashed his vehicle in the 800-block of Westwoods Drive.  He was transported to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment.

Deputies said that they are not actively searching for any suspects, but the investigation is ongoing.
