Man Arrested on 'Peeping Tom' Charges

Springdale, SC (WLTX) - Springdale police have arrested a suspect they say was looking into a bedroom window.

Officers have charged 28-year-old Dennis K. Curry with four counts of Peeping Tom/Peeping, failure to stop on police command, and resisting arrest.

Officers say they'd been getting repeated reports of a man looking into a residence on Wattling Road dating back to January of 2013.

Police decided to conduct a five-day operation to try to catch the suspect, dressing one of their officers in plainclothes to pretend to be a new tenant at the home. Officers were able to get information on who the suspect may be, but say they wanted to catch him in the act.

On Monday, officers say they saw Curry looking into a bedroom window. When they tried to arrest him, officers say he ran from them and initially resisted arrest.

Police say he lived across the street from the place he's accused of spying on.

Curry has confessed to the crime, according to police.
